Tracking Our Great Loop Adventure: Live Updates

A map of the eastern United States showing the Great Loop route traced in red. The route travels up the East Coast, through New York and into the Great Lakes, across Michigan and down through Illinois, then follows the inland rivers through Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and back to Florida. Numerous small white location markers appear along the red path, indicating stops or waypoints along the journey.

Where’s Wildfire?

Welcome aboard! This page is the best way to follow along as we travel America’s Great Loop aboard Wildfire with our three four-legged crew members — Oreo, Biscuit, and Scottie.

This map shows our path around the Great Loop, traced in red. Every bubble marks a marina where Wildfire tied up for the night.

Below you will find two more interactive maps that allow you to find out what we are up to now and/or get details on some of the previous stops.

1️⃣ Our Great Loop Route Map (link incoming)

This interactive map shows the miles we’ve traveled so far. We update it as we complete new legs of the Loop so you can see our progress — anchorages, rivers, lakes, locks, and all the twists and turns in between.

2️⃣ Live AIS / Marine Traffic Map (link incoming)

This map shows real-time marine traffic in the area and, when available, Wildfire’s current AIS position. (Depending on signal, location, and conditions, AIS may not always be active — that’s just boat life!)

Together, these maps give you a full picture of where we’ve been and where we’re headed next.

Our Journey So Far

We began our Great Loop adventure in March 2025, heading out with equal parts excitement, curiosity, and a very enthusiastic dog crew. As we move from region to region, we’ll keep adding new tracks and updates here.

If you’re a fellow Looper planning your own trip — or just someone who enjoys following along — feel free to check back anytime to see where the winds (and currents) have taken us.

A Quick Note About Safety

For privacy reasons, we may occasionally delay position updates or temporarily turn off live tracking. Rest assured, we’re safe — just practicing smart seamanship.
